Meet the Loving Maine Coon Family

The Two-Legged Ones

Kimberly Liszcz has always had a deep passion for animals. As a child, she would often bring stray animals home, much to her parents’ dismay. Her first job at 16 was at a horse stable, where she taught riding lessons and cared for over 20 horses. This experience ignited her love for animal care, and she soon found herself working in animal hospitals, where she enjoyed learning about small animal health and wellness, as well as all the quirks of the various dog and cat breeds.

Years later, while working at a pediatric hospital, Kimberly’s passion for animals remained strong. Her love for Maine Coons began when her family, which included young children and large dogs, needed a cat breed that could adapt to their active lifestyle. That’s when Kimberly decided to start breeding Maine Coons—a decision she never looked back on.

Breeding quickly became a full-time commitment for Kimberly. “It’s not a part-time job,” she often says. “It’s 24/7, 365 days a year, with no time off and little time with family.”

Loving Maine Coon Family

The demands of breeding Maine Coons are intense, and many new breeders don’t realize the mental and physical strength required. Kimberly has faced her share of challenges, like the heartbreaking moment when one of her Queens passed away just five days after giving birth. Kimberly took on the role of mother to the five kittens, feeding them every two hours, keeping them warm, and balancing the demands of running her business, caring for her family, and squeezing in sleep wherever possible. Her children even joined in, helping with feedings and litter box training, turning this difficult time into a bonding experience for the entire family.

Despite the difficulties, Kimberly finds immense joy in watching her Maine Coon kittens grow and thrive. Her business has flourished year after year, with stories of strangers in Colorado meeting and realizing they both purchased their kittens from Maine Coon Maniacs.

Kimberly takes pride in having built a well-known, reputable business in Colorado while enjoying the freedom to stay home and raise her family. From her first job to her current one, her focus has always been on animals and their well-being—a passion that continues to drive her every day.
